In May 2016 the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) appointed BGP Geophysical Services to develop an environmental and social management framework (ESMF) for its priority power projects. SAPP provides reliable and economical electricity to consumers in all twelve mainland states of the Southern African Development Community. The World Bank-funded ESMF will guide environmental and social scoping of internationally financed projects before assessments are undertaken.
